Notes
Benefit: Skeleton infused with a heavy metal-ceramic alloy lattice layered over the standard lacing. +10 maximum HP, +2 to Fortitude saves vs system shock, falling, crush, and stab, and unarmed strikes deal 1d6 damage and are treated as armed for purposes of threatening a square. Major benefit level. Intended for combat-grade hosts; heavy-labour and labour-gang variants differ only in tuning.
Install Risk: Medicine DC 20 for the layered infusion, with three weeks of recovery. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 17 or gains Botched Implant: brittle lacing, -4 HP and -2 Fortitude until a Medicine DC 18 re-lacing. Failure by 5+ shatters a long-bone cluster and the carrier is Helpless 1d4 days during surgical rebuild.
Signature: Tracked. Legion and Ironball legal. Confined to heavy-infantry or arena champion categories in the Core; civilian possession is restricted.
Strain: Heavy mass and metal-ceramic signature. -3 to Swim, -2 to Zero-G Ops, and the laced skeleton triggers every metal detector and weapon scanner. Heat radiates slowly through the lattice, imposing an additional -1 to Fortitude saves vs fire and plasma (stacks with any mesh bonus). Monthly Mechanics DC 12 service or the unarmed damage drops to 1d4 until serviced.
