Notes
Benefit: Gecko-pads and micro-claws grafted onto hands and feet. Climb any surface (metal, rock, hull, glass) at half move with no Athletics check, +4 to Athletics checks when a check is required, and cling to a hull in vacuum or zero-g without drifting. Treat walls and ceilings as difficult terrain you can stand on. Moderate benefit level.
Install Risk: Mechanics DC 16 to graft the pads to all four limbs. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 14 or gains Botched Implant: patchy adhesion (Climb DC +5) until a Mechanics DC 15 reseal. Failure by 5+ rejects the pad grafts for 1d4 days (no grip, -2 to all limb tasks).
Signature: Black-market off-license. Gecko-pad grafts are boarding-assault hardware; unlicensed sets are contraband in the Core and Inner worlds, and carrying them through a checkpoint risks detention.
Strain: The pads lose grip on dust, ice, and oil (Climb DC +5 in those conditions). The micro-claws click on hard surfaces, -2 to Stealth while climbing. The grafts are visibly non-standard on all four limbs, marking the bearer as assault-trained.
