Notes
Benefit: An archotech-grade full-cortex lattice that supersedes and includes the Cortexium Co-Processor, the Reflex Co-Processor, the Mnemonic Engram Lattice, and the Split-Cortex Multiplexer in one chassis. The carrier gains +2 to INT-based skill checks, +2 to Lore checks, +2 to Reflex saves, +2 to initiative, the free 5-foot step once per encounter, +4 to a chosen INT-based skill, the +4 insight bonus on a single recorded scene, and the extra minor action per round from the Multiplexer. Major benefit level, the package is treated as a single aug for capacity purposes.
Install Risk: Medicine DC 24 for the full-cortex lattice, with one month of recovery and a mandatory Kadiss-grid integration session. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 20 or gains Botched Implant: cascade failure, -4 to INT-based skills, -2 to Reflex saves, and the Multiplexer benefit is offline for 1d4 weeks until a specialist Medicine DC 22 reset. Failure by 5+ leaves a permanent -2 INT and -1 WIS.
Origin: Archotech vault-sealed chassis, issued to House senior retainers, Confederation ambassadorial cadre, and the rare core-world Commander-tier officer.
Signature: Restricted to House senior retainers and Confederation ambassadorial cadre. Architect lattice possession is logged with Argus at the highest tier; civil possession is forbidden. Off-grid unregistered Architect lattices are archotech contraband and a capital offence in the Core.
Strain: The lattice dominates the brain. While the Architect is online, the carrier cannot benefit from any other cortex-class aug (Co-Processor, Reflex Coprocessor, Engram Lattice, Skillwire Node, Multiplexer, Targeting Coprocessor are subsumed or nullified). The lattice requires a daily 4-hour cognitive-rest period (a daily maintenance window where the carrier cannot multitask or use INT-based skills at full capacity, -2 to INT-based checks during the window). Off-grid operation is impossible; a Kadiss-grid outage drops all lattice bonuses by half and imposes the off-grid penalty on top.
