Notes
Benefit: An auxiliary cortex slab grafted above the Kadiss baseline that offloads memory and recall. +1 to INT-based skill checks, +1 to Lore checks, and you may take 10 on Lore checks you have no ranks in (you normally cannot). Capacity is consumed per installed slab; stacking grants no further benefit. Moderate benefit level.
Install Risk: Medicine DC 17 for the cortex seat. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 14 or gains Botched Implant: recall bleed, -2 to Lore checks for 1d4 days until a Medicine DC 15 reseat. Failure by 5+ leaves a permanent -1 INT.
Origin: Houses archivist cadres, Core academic institutes, and Families audit teams that need a recall edge during depositions and contract disputes.
Signature: Tracked. Registered academic and corporate wetware, logged on the Kadiss grid as cognitive-assist hardware. Unremarkable in the Inner worlds.
Strain: Runs hot. After 8 hours of continuous use (a full work shift, an extended slice, a long rest in an overstimulating environment) Fortitude DC 13 or take -1 to mental actions from cortex fatigue until you rest an hour off-task.
