Notes
Benefit: An archotech-grade internal slicing and counter-intelligence co-processor built to operate off-grid by design and to spoof the Kadiss even when the grid is fully active. +6 to Hacking and Computers/Slicing checks, you may attempt Hacking as a standard action once per scene where it is normally slow, you may operate off-grid with no penalty to INT-based skills, you spoof the carrier's Kadiss Tier by -2 for purposes of grid tracing (a high-tier slicer with grid access gains no automatic bonus to find you), and you gain a +2 bonus to resist black-ICE feedback damage. Major benefit level.
Install Risk: Mechanics DC 22 for the back-alley neural fit. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 18 or gains Botched Implant: archotech burn, -4 to INT-based skills for 1d4 weeks until a specialist Mechanics DC 20 reset. Failure by 5+ locks the grid-side spoof for 1d4 days, leaving the carrier visible at their true Kadiss Tier to any scan. No Core clinic will touch it.
Origin: Archotech vault-sealed chassis, issued to Day One elite cells (one chassis per cell leader), Rim data-kingmaker courts, and Houses covert-ops runners with archotech access.
Signature: Ghost and archotech-contraband. Off-grid by design and unregistered; possession is a capital offence in the Core and a serious offence in the Inner worlds. Only a House covert-ops runner with archotech access can field one legally, and even then only with a deniable cover.
Strain: Off-grid by design but heavy on the wetware. After a slice, opposing slicers gain +4 (not +2) to trace you for 1 hour (the chassis is high-value, so the trace team comes heavy). Black-ICE deals +2 feedback damage (not +1) because the chassis wires straight into the archotech substrate. The chassis requires a monthly specialist Mechanics DC 15 service; a missed service imposes -2 to Hacking checks until serviced.
