Notes

Benefit: A direct wetware hand-off to the Kadiss grid that lets the carrier treat one device or AI process as if it shared the carrier's Kadiss Tier. Specifically, the carrier's tier (0-5) is added to the device's or AI's access checks for systems keyed to the carrier (doors, archives, services). The carrier also gains the standard Kadiss-tier cognition bonus on checks tied to that device or AI (initiative, Perception, recall). Major benefit level. Effects of an off-grid penalty or throttle on the carrier flow through to the coupled device or AI immediately.

Install Risk: Medicine DC 18 for the grid-side splice. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 16 or gains Botched Implant: a tier ghost, -1 to all Kadiss-tier checks and a permanent -1 to Access rolls until a Medicine DC 17 unpairing. Failure by 5+ locks the recipient to a Kadiss Tier 0 until corrected.

Origin: Confederation ambassadorial attaches who must act through locally-loaned synthetics, House liaisons who command a personal AI familiar, and Legion command staff who run a tactical AI advisor.

Signature: Mixed. Tracked for Core citizens under the standard Kadiss registry; ghost or unregistered variants are restricted and a serious offense.

Strain: Coupling is a one-to-one persistent link. While coupled you cannot switch devices without a 10-minute unpair window. If the coupled device or AI is destroyed, the carrier takes 2d6 subdual damage and is Stunned 1 round. If the carrier is throttled by Argus or a House, the device goes dark with them, and vice versa.
