Notes

Benefit: Amygdala-and-hippocampus governor that suppresses fear and panic responses. You are immune to the Frightened and Panicked conditions from conventional fear sources, and you gain a +4 bonus to Will saves vs fear, intimidation, and horror effects. The anchor does not confer courage, only the absence of involuntary fear. Moderate to major benefit level.

Install Risk: Medicine DC 16 for the amygdala seat. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 13 or gains Botched Implant: hyperarousal, +1 to initiative but -2 to Will vs fear until a Medicine DC 14 correction. Failure by 5+ leaves a permanent -1 to Will vs horror.

Origin: Confederation hostage-rescue teams, House duelists who must face fire without flinching, and Day One cells operating in Argus surveillance.

Signature: Tracked. Confined to Houses security, Legion command staff, and licensed security details. Civilian versions log every fear-suppression event to the grid for monitoring.

Strain: Fear is information. The carrier cannot sense danger through instinctive dread; -2 to Insight checks that hinge on a felt gut-reaction, and -1 to spot a hidden ambush by instinct (the body no longer flinches before the mind registers). Long-term wear dulls risk-evaluation; once per session the carrier should be prompted by a GM to recheck their risk assessment.
