Notes
Benefit: Single-function replacement eye tuned for dark and vacuum work. See in dim light and total darkness (no Perception or attack penalty) out to 60 ft, and a basic 2x zoom. -1 to ranged attacks (the eye has no ballistic overlay). Minor benefit level.
Install Risk: Mechanics DC 14 to splice the optic nerve. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 12 or gains Botched Implant: light bleed, -2 Perception and dazzled in bright light until a Mechanics DC 13 reseal. Failure by 5+ leaves the socket inflamed for 1d4 days at -2 to sight checks.
Origin: Station and mine outfitters who fit the crews that work dark holds and night shifts, plus the gene-mod-poor who buy sight instead of breeding it.
Signature: Tracked. Cheap civilian units are Core-registered; off-grid grey copies are common on Rim stations. Unremarkable anywhere a night-shift worker would be.
Strain: Electronic and single-band. On EMP or ion exposure, Fortitude DC 12 or the eye goes dark 1d4 rounds (blinded on that side, -2 ranged and Perception). Bright flashes wash the low-light gain, -2 vs flash effects for 1 round.
