Notes

Benefit: Bionic bone marrow replacement with programmable haematopoietic matrix. +3 to Fortitude saves vs blood-borne diseases and marrow-targeted pathogens. Increases natural healing rate by 50% (the enhanced marrow produces optimised platelets and healing factors). Grants +1 to Constitution from superior blood cell production -- more red cells, faster clotting, stronger immune components. Eliminates bone marrow diseases (leukaemia, aplastic anaemia) and grants advantage on saves vs radiation sickness (the matrix repairs radiation-damaged stem cells). Once per week, can trigger 'Stem Cell Surge' to heal 2d8 HP over 1 minute.

Install Risk: Medicine DC 18 for total marrow ablation and matrix seeding. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 16 or suffers graft failure (-3 CON for 1d4 weeks while the matrix establishes -- during this period the user is effectively immune-compromised and vulnerable to all diseases). 5% chance of permanent graft rejection requiring removal and traditional bone marrow transplant.

Origin: Developed by an unnamed Inner Familyis medical division for Legion veterans with radiation-damaged marrow from ship reactor exposure. The Osteo-Forge matrix was designed to rebuild haematopoietic function from scratch, with enhanced performance as a secondary benefit. Rim clinics have developed a less reliable version using cloned stem cells that carries a 10% cancer risk -- the Osteo-Forge is considered the only safe option.

Signature: Restricted. Military and specialist medical use, Kadiss-tracked. Popular among Legion shock troops who expect to take wounds regularly and need faster recovery between engagements.

Strain: High. Requires monthly matrix nutrient infusion -- the synthetic marrow consumes metabolic resources at twice the rate of natural marrow. 2% annual chance of matrix overproduction (uncontrolled blood cell generation causing hyperviscosity syndrome; -1 DEX, -1 CON until treated). The enhanced clotting factors increase thrombosis risk in sedentary users -- the implant is designed for active soldiers, not desk workers.
