Benefit: Single-piston replacement leg. +10 ft to base movement speed, and the piston absorbs 1 point of falling damage per 10 ft fallen. -2 to Acrobatics and Acrobatics checks (the leg does not flex well). Minor benefit level.
Install Risk: Mechanics DC 14 to bolt the pylon to the hip socket. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 12 or gains Botched Implant: misaligned piston, -5 ft speed and -1 Acrobatics until a Mechanics DC 13 realignment. Failure by 5+ pops the socket for 1d4 days of lameness.
Signature: Grey. Salvage hardware, common on Rim worlds and in the lower decks. Unremarkable in the Outer worlds; flagged as untaxed at strict Core checkpoints.
Strain: The piston hisses and clanks with every stride. Permanent -4 to Stealth while walking or running on the leg. Service every 30 days (Mechanics DC 11) or the piston sticks (-5 ft speed) until repaired.
