Notes
Benefit: House-grade full-spectrum cochlear implant. +4 to Perception checks involving hearing, hear sub- and ultrasonic bands (sonar, dog whistles, machine whine), +4 to saves vs sonic and sonic-weapon effects, and detect voice micro-tremors for +2 to Sense Motive against a speaker you can hear. Major benefit level.
Install Risk: Medicine DC 18 to graft the cochlea to the nerve bundle. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 15 or gains Botched Implant: band distortion, -2 to hearing Perception until a Medicine DC 16 correction at a Core facility. Failure by 5+ deadens the bundle for 1d4 days (-3 hearing).
Signature: Tracked and restricted. Registered as House-issue on the Kadiss grid. A full-spectrum cochlea is intelligence-grade; off-license possession draws scrutiny at any scan.
Strain: Light service (quarterly Medicine DC 13 at a licensed bay). The lie-sense reads stress, not truth; a trained liar or a sociopath can beat it (GM adjudication), and the constant input imposes -1 to concentration saves against distraction in chaotic sound.
