Notes
Benefit: Forearm fitted with a swappable tool-matrix head (cutting torch, socket wrench, welding arc, scanner probe, lockpick driver). Counts as a full mechanic's and surgeon's tool kit, halves the time for Mechanics, lockpicking, and Medicine repair tasks, and +1 to Mechanics checks made with the deployed tool. Moderate benefit level.
Install Risk: Mechanics DC 16 to mount the matrix and wire the swap bus. Recipient makes a Fortitude save DC 14 or gains Botched Implant: mis-indexed head (50 percent chance the wrong tool deploys) until a Mechanics DC 15 reindex. Failure by 5+ jams the bus for 1d4 days (no tool swap).
Signature: Tracked. Registered as industrial tool-prosthetic on the Kadiss grid. Common among ship engineers, field medics, and salvage riggers; uncontested in the Inner worlds.
Strain: Deployed tools are loud and run hot; -4 to Stealth while a tool is out, and the torch and welder shed sparks (small fire risk near fuel, GM adjudication). Swapping a head is a move action; the matrix cannot hold a weapon and a tool at once.
