Snared but not held: -2 attack, half speed, no charge or withdraw.
An entangled character is caught in something clinging rather than seized by
somebody -- nanofibre webbing, a ventral gill-veil, a sap-lure, a net. They
fight at -2 on attack rolls and move at half speed, and they cannot charge or
withdraw while the tangle holds. Unlike Grappled, no opponent is holding them:
nothing has to win a check each round to keep them there, and nothing is
distracted by holding them either.
The tangle is a thing, so it can be attacked. Cutting or burning the fibres
frees the character without harming them; so does tearing loose by main force.
A character who spends their effort tearing free rather than cutting takes the
strain of it -- the fibres do not let go clean.
