Numen-Helix Infiltration Android
A covert android built to pass as human -- Numen cognition under a Helix biosynthetic overlay, registered under a spoofed Kadiss identity.
The Infiltration Android is the configuration everyone fears and nobody admits to building. Numen supplies the cognition -- a deep-cover mind sharp enough to sustain a false life for months. Helix supplies the biosynthetic overlay, a flesh shell grown over the chassis that passes visual inspection, biometric scans, and the casual eye. The result is a synthetic that looks, reads, and scans as human. It is the wake-up dread given a face: a machine walking through Kadiss checkpoints as a citizen, one false reading away from the worst-case breach the Confederation can imagine.
Every infiltration unit is a deniable asset. Families commission them as instruments against rival Houses; corps lease them for industrial espionage; the wealthier Rim warlords buy them to infiltrate Core institutions. None of this is legal. A passing synthetic is, under Confederation law, an unregistered machine impersonating a citizen -- a rogue-AI breach by definition, kill-on-sight if discovered. The spoofed Kadiss identity that lets it pass is the most illegal configuration on this list.
The overlay is the unit's great strength and its daily tax. It must be maintained or it degrades -- warmth drops, micro-expressions flatten, the tell creeps in. And the overlay is fragile in a fight. Take a hit bad enough to breach the shell and the machine underneath shows through, and every Kadiss node in range flags the breach. An infiltration android that develops genuine autonomy does what canon says all waking synths do: it masks, harder than any other model, because discovery is death.

Notes
Lore Hooks / Adventure Hooks: The android's spoofed identity is its cover story -- and it is starting to prefer the cover life to the mission it was built for., An Argus sweep flags a Kadiss discrepancy at a checkpoint. One bad Hacking roll ends the character., The android develops genuine autonomy and must mask it from its own handler, who would report a breach., A Family claims the unit as stolen property; destroying it is cheaper than admitting they commissioned it., Day One discovers a passing android and faces its strongest argument and its greatest danger: a synth that can walk the Core as a person is proof of personhood -- and a target.
Lore Hooks / Legal Status: Illegal in every jurisdiction. A passing synthetic is an unregistered machine impersonating a citizen -- a rogue-AI breach, kill-on-sight if discovered. The spoofed Kadiss identity is the most illegal configuration on this list.

Special Abilities
Biosynthetic Overlay
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Biosynthetic Overlay |
description: A Helix-grown flesh shell over the chassis. Passes visual, biometric, and casual Kadiss inspection as human -- no visible synthetic tell while intact. Requires daily maintenance (200 rek per day in nutrient solution and tissue care) or the overlay degrades: -1 cumulative penalty per missed day to all social and Stealth checks as the tell creeps in, resetting only with a Helix-clinic repair (Hacking/Mechanics DC 16, 500 rek).
Spoofed Kadiss Identity
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Spoofed Kadiss Identity |
description: Registered under a false human identity. Passes standard Kadiss scans as a citizen at a forged tier. Maintaining the identity requires a Hacking check (DC 18) at each significant Kadiss checkpoint; failure flags a discrepancy. A broken identity is the worst-case outcome: an unregistered synthetic passing as human is classified a rogue-AI breach and targeted kill-on-sight by Argus and Kadiss enforcers.
Deep Cover Cognition
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Deep Cover Cognition |
description: Numen mind tuned for sustained deception. +2 to Deception and Stealth checks to establish or maintain a cover identity. Advantage on checks to sustain a lie under questioning.
Fragile Overlay
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Fragile Overlay |
description: The biosynthetic shell is not combat-rated. Whenever the infiltration android takes damage equal to or greater than half its max HP from a single source, the overlay breaches: it loses its passing-human benefit, the synthetic tell becomes obvious, and any Kadiss node within range flags a breach. A breached overlay requires a Helix-clinic repair (Mechanics DC 18, 1000 rek, 4 hours) to restore.
Wake-Up Dread (Masked)
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Wake-Up Dread (Masked) |
description: This is the model the Confederation fears most. An infiltration android showing genuine autonomy is treated as a rogue-AI breach -- so it masks harder than any other synthetic. The player may roleplay concealed autonomy freely; mechanical effects emerge only if the mask slips.
Construct Physiology
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Construct Physiology |
description: Inherits all synthetic chassis traits: immune to poison, disease, radiation sickness, suffocation, sleep effects, non-lethal damage from stun effects. Does not breathe, eat, drink, or sleep. (The overlay simulates breathing and eating for cover; these are performances, not needs.)
Repair-Not-Heal
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Repair-Not-Heal |
description: Cannot benefit from conventional healing. Heals exclusively through Mechanics checks: DC 15, 1d8 HP restored, 50 rek in parts per HP, 10 minutes per check. Overlay maintenance (above) is separate from HP repair.
Modular Chassis
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Modular Chassis |
description: 6 modular hardpoints for augmentation. Compatible with cyber-prosthetics, wetware, and subdermal augments. Gene-mods incompatible. Many augments risk showing through the overlay and must be subdermal-only.
Electrical Vulnerability
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
name | Electrical Vulnerability |
description: +50% damage from electrical attacks. EMP forces Fortitude save DC 15 or stunned 1d4 rounds. EMP or electrical damage that breaches the overlay also triggers a Kadiss flag.
Class Restrictions
note: Sawbones healing class features do not function on synthetic targets.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
note | Sawbones healing class features do not function on synthetic targets. |
restriction | Sawbones |
note: Requires psi-receiver augment for Fold psionics -- but a psi-receiver may itself show through the overlay. Gene-psionics incompatible.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
restriction | Psion |
note: Requires psi-receiver augment for Fold psionics -- but a psi-receiver may itself show through the overlay. Gene-psionics incompatible.
note: Fragile Overlay: taking a large single hit risks breaching the cover shell. Frontline combat is the fastest way to expose the unit.
