Once/day double power effect: +50% damage or duration, +3 Fold Points, auto Catastrophe check.
The character can overchannel Fold energy for a single,
devastating surge. Once per day, when manifesting any Fold
power, the character may declare an overchannel: the power's
effect is doubled (damage dice +50%, area +50%, duration
doubled). The overchannel adds +3 Fold Points instead of 1,
and the character must immediately make a Catastrophe Save
even if Fold Points remain under threshold. If the Catastrophe
Save fails, the character still gains the benefit but suffers
the catastrophic result.
Special: Requires Psion archetype or Fold psion. The doubling applies to whichever effect (damage or duration) is most appropriate for the power. Targets save at -2 against the overchanneled power. The Catastrophe Save is made even if Fold Points remain under threshold; if it fails, the standard Catastrophic Perils result applies (roll d6, then Fold Points reset to threshold - 5). Stacks with Corruption Resistance's halved Fold Points only AFTER the +3 has been applied (so overchannel + Corruption Resistance = +2 effective).
