Grip-Limb Splice

Climbing-limb splice: long, gripping digits and a gecko-pad palm that hold a hull or a cliff without a line.

A chimeric limb splice: elongated gripping digits, a reinforced wrist, and a dry-adhesive palm grafted from gecko stock. The bearer climbs a sheer hull or a rock face at a walk, keeps their guard up while they do it, and works overhead where baseline stock would need a line and a prayer. The grip geometry is oversized for standard tools, and fine mechanism-work done by a grip-limbed hand shows it.

Notes

Effect Text: +2 to Athletics checks; climb at full move speed instead of one quarter; retain DEX bonus to AC while climbing. -1 to fine-motor skill checks (jury-rig, lockwork, surgery) with standard-sized tools.

Lore Note: One of the disallowed splice lines -- built by the fringe biotechs who believed humanity's future lay in borrowing from evolution's proven shapes. The programmes were shut down and the creators scattered or prosecuted, but the lineages survived in the Spliced communities of the Rim and the Reservation. A grip-limbed rigger or hull-walker is worth their wage in salvage and ship-break, and the oversized grip is the tell that marks them in a Core market.
