Rad-Scrub Lining

Radiation-hardened metabolism: a thyroid and marrow lining that scavenges rad isotopes before they settle.

A radiation-hardened metabolic suite: iodine-hungry thyroid, reinforced marrow, and a cellular-repair loop tuned to catch double-strand breaks before they propagate. The bearer sweats isotopes, runs warm, and tolerates reactor proximity that would hospitalise baseline stock inside a shift. The lining does not make its bearer immune -- it buys time, measured in shifts rather than minutes.

Notes

Lore Note: Helix grew this line for the belt-miner consortiums that work the Rekk-Ledger and the Argus-Needle -- hulls and rock that have never been shielded and never will be. It is a Vatspire staple, cheap by Helix standards, and the gene-crafters will tell you it is the closest thing the catalogue has to a charitable line. They will not tell you what the long-term thyroid load does to the third generation; the Salon of Last Chances has the data and the queue is six days long.
