Telomere Lock

Heritable longevity: telomere repair baked into the germline, so the line ages slowly and dies older.

A longevity treatment that became heritable. Telomerase expression turned up just enough that the line's cells do not fray on schedule, and the result is a lifespan stretched roughly half again past baseline, with the physical decline of age postponed by a full category. It is not youth held forever -- the body still winds down -- but the winding is slower, and the line has the patience that only long horizons teach.

Notes

Effect Text: Lifespan increased by roughly 50%; aging-category ability penalties delayed by one category; +1 to saves vs. aging and accelerated-metabolism effects.

Lore Note: The Kith carry a partial expression of this lock from the void generations, and Helix sells the refined, heritable version to any House that can pay. The Vatspire runs longevity batches constantly, and the running scandal is the Cold Lock -- top-ups held past quality review, and the echo-lot reuse of samples past their shelf life. A locked telomere is a long promise, and Helix charges by the decade for keeping it.
