Legion Heavy Plate
Legion heavy-infantry rig; iron plate over fatigue, for sustained engagements.
The Legion Heavy Plate is the standard rig of Legion line-infantry in any engagement expected to last longer than a single shift: a sealed fatigue inner suit laminated with steel-alloy trauma plates across the torso, limbs, neck, and skull. The Plate is heavy -- by the end of a twelve-hour engagement, a Legionnaire in heavy plate is moving at half-speed and sweating through their under-suit -- but it shrugs off everything short of a magnetic accelerator or a beam weapon. Built to be repaired in the field by a unit armourer with hand tools; the plates are interchangeable and the under-suit can be re-stitched. Issued only to serving Legion heavy-infantry and certain siege units; cannot be sold or transferred under any circumstance, and the Legion's quartermasters will hunt a Deserter who keeps his plate.
