Argus DS-7 Diagnostic Scanner
Medical diagnostic scanner; detects hidden injuries, monitors aug-status, and links to the Argus diagnostic database.
The DS-7 is Argus' entry into the medical market, and it is characteristically thorough. The multi-spectrum sensor array reads biological signs across infrared, ultrasonic, electromagnetic, and chemical spectra, building a three-dimensional map of the patient's internal state in two minutes. The scanner flags injuries that a physical examination would miss: micro-fractures, sub-clinical organ damage, low-level radiation accumulation, toxin metabolites, and -- critically -- augmentation hardware status. The DS-7 can tell you whether an aug is functioning correctly, whether it has been tampered with, and whether it is registered on the Kadiss grid or running ghost. This last capability makes the DS-7 invaluable to security forces screening for black-clinic augs, and equally invaluable to black-clinic operators checking whether their own augs are clean. The scanner requires an Argus diagnostic database subscription to stay current; without updates, it falls back to a baseline medical library that is adequate but not optimal. Argus, naturally, tracks every scan.

Notes
Capacity: handheld scanner unit with multi-spectrum sensor array, Kadiss-linked diagnostic database (requires periodic update subscription)
Effect: Grants +4 bonus to Medicine checks for diagnosing conditions and injuries. Reveals hidden conditions: internal bleeding, organ damage, toxin presence, radiation exposure, early-stage infection, aug-strain, and aug-rejection (DC 10 Medicine check with bonus). Scans augmentation hardware for malfunctions, tampering, and ghost-signature status. Range: touch (patient must be within 1 metre). Full-body scan takes 2 minutes.
