The Aug-Install Field Kit answers the question every Rim operator eventually faces: what happens when you find a cyber-arm on a Derelict and the nearest autodoc is three systems away? The kit contains the minimum tools to install augmentation hardware in non-clinical conditions: precision scalpels and bone saws for tissue preparation, a nerve-splicing kit for connecting cyber-prosthetics to the nervous system, a tissue bonding agent for sealing the implant site, and a compatibility scanner that checks whether the aug will kill the patient before the surgeon starts cutting. The sterile field generator is disposable and provides a clean operating area for one procedure; after that, infection risk rises sharply. The kit handles industrial-tier augmentations without significant difficulty, but spacer-tier installations are at the edge of its capability -- the tools are adequate but the margin for error is thin. Glitter and archotech-tier augs require precision and calibration that only a proper autodoc can provide. Helix designed the kit for Legion field surgeons and PMC aug-technicians; on the Rim, it is the standard tool of every black-clinic operator who cannot afford a proper surgical suite. The complication rate is real, and every black-clinic patient knows someone who did not survive the installation.

Effect: Allows augmentation installation in the field without an autodoc. Grants +2 bonus to Medicine checks for aug installation (industrial-tier and below). At spacer-tier, the bonus is +0 (no bonus, but installation is possible). Cannot install glitter-tier or archotech-tier augmentations. Field installation carries a +5% complication risk per installation (GM rolls after each procedure). Each kit supports 3 installations before requiring resupply.
