The Surgical Medkit is what a field medic carries when they expect to be the only surgeon for a hundred klicks. It is a full miniature operating theatre in a reinforced case: precision scalpels and retractors, a micro-suture rig for work on blood vessels and nerve bundles, organ clamps for holding tissue in place during repair, and a basic nerve regenerator that can bridge severed neural pathways. The kit can handle industrial-tier augmentation installation -- cyber-prosthetic limbs, basic wetware, subdermal hardware -- though the operator needs genuine surgical training to use it safely. Without that training, the kit is a collection of very sharp objects. Helix designed the Surgical Medkit for Legion forward surgical teams and PMC field hospitals, but it has become the standard tool of Rim black-clinic surgeons who cannot afford a proper autodoc. The biocompatible sealant is Helix-patented and degrades after six months; using expired sealant is a gamble that Rim surgeons take daily.
