Rim Jury-Rigged Autodoc
Salvaged autodoc cobbled from wrecks.
On the Rim, a working autodoc is worth more than most ships. The jury-rigged autodoc is what you get when a Rim tech with more desperation than skill pulls a medical pod out of a Derelict, splices it to a salvaged power cell, and prays. Two of the original four manipulator arms work reliably; one sticks mid-procedure; the fourth was replaced with a repurposed mining tool that the tech assures you is 'basically the same thing.' The diagnostic library is a cracked copy of a Helix Mk.II firmware package from two decades ago, so it can handle bullet wounds and broken bones but has no idea what to do with particle burns or modern augmentation hardware. Every Rim clinic, pirate ship, and warlord field hospital has one. Every patient who survives it tells the story for years. The ones who do not survive are buried quietly.

Notes
Effect: Stabilises dying patients on a DC 10 Medicine check (failure means the autodoc misdiagnoses; GM rolls on the complication table). Assists surgery: grants +2 bonus to Medicine checks, but every surgery roll has a 1-in-6 chance of complication (infection, misalignment, instrument malfunction). Can attempt aug installation at -2 penalty to Medicine checks; failure causes aug-strain or rejection. Diagnostic library is outdated; may not recognise post-spacer medical conditions.
