Argus SD-5 Sonic Disruptor
Sonic disruptor; projects focused infrasound that causes nausea, disorientation, and organ damage.
The SD-5 is Argus Security's sonic disruptor, a weapon that projects a focused beam of infrasound and low-frequency vibrations that bypass conventional armour entirely and attack the human body directly. The SD-5's effects range from nausea and disorientation at low power to organ rupture and internal haemorrhage at full output. Armour that stops bullets and energy bolts provides no protection against vibrations that travel through solid matter; only specialised acoustic dampening can mitigate the weapon's effects. The SD-5's limitations are its power appetite, its indiscriminate area effect (the operator and nearby friendlies are at risk without ear protection), and its reduced effectiveness against targets with augmented internal dampening. Argus markets the SD-5 for security and crowd control applications; its classification as 'restricted' reflects the weapon's potential for indiscriminate harm.
