Clan 'Bonebreaker' Heavy Railgun
Clan-built heavy railgun; salvaged rails, brute-force capacitor banks.
The 'Bonebreaker' is a Rim-clan manufactured heavy railgun, built from salvaged electromagnetic rail sections and repurposed industrial capacitor banks. Where the Surikov RG-9 is a precision instrument, the Bonebreaker is a sledgehammer: its rails are hand-aligned, its power system is a jury-rigged assembly of scavenged cells, and its frame is welded from structural scrap. The result is a weapon that fires a heavy penetrator at velocities comparable to the RG-9, but with none of the refinement: accuracy is poor beyond medium range, the weapon runs dangerously hot after a few shots, and the capacitor bank has a non-trivial chance of catastrophic discharge if mishandled. None of this deters the Rim clans, for whom the Bonebreaker represents the heaviest man-portable firepower available without Core supply chains. Clan armourers produce them in foundries across the Rim; each is unique, named by its maker, and carried as a badge of status.
