The 'Cinder' is a Rim-clan manufactured particle pistol, the most compact and dangerous of the clan-built particle weapons. Miniaturising an accelerator array into a pistol frame is an engineering challenge that defeats most clan armourers; those who succeed produce weapons that are as dangerous to the user as to the target. The Cinder's thermal management is minimal, its power system is a repurposed cell pack that runs dangerously hot, and its particle coherence is low enough that much of the bolt's energy disperses before reaching the target. Despite these limitations, the Cinder fires particle bolts that defeat personal armour at close range, a capability that no other Rim-sidearm can match. The weapon is rare, produced only by the most skilled clan armourers, and carried by those who value armour-piercing capability over personal safety. A Cinder's owner accepts the risk of burns, electrical shock, and catastrophic cell failure as the price of carrying Core-grade firepower in a Rim-made package.
