Day One Pilgrim Improvised Carbine
A Hive-bottom improvised carbine assembled by Day One reset-cells from plumbing and prayer.
The Pilgrim is not a manufactured weapon so much as a statement. Day One cells in the Hive-bottom cut receiver tubes from water-piping, machine the bolt face from a captured handgun slide, and fit whatever barrel a sympathetic Mechanic can scratch in a back-alley shop. The resulting carbine fires a single 9mm round, then a second, then usually not a third. It is meant to be carried once, used once, and discarded: the pilgrim's rifle, fired on the way to a sacrifice. The Cores recover dozens from the wreckage of every Hive riot; forensics spends more tracing the source pipe than the shooter.
