The CC-2 is Helios Foundry's cryo cannon, a weapon that projects a wide spray of supercooled cryogenic fluid capable of flash-freezing exposed flesh, jamming Mechanical systems, and coating surfaces in treacherous ice. Unlike incendiary weapons, the CC-2's damage is thermal shock rather than burning: targets suffer frostbite, hypothermia, and brittle fracture as their tissues and equipment are rapidly cooled to cryogenic temperatures. The weapon's area effect is wide but its range is limited, and the fluid dissipates quickly in Vacuum or high-heat environments. The CC-2 has a niche but valuable role in boarding actions (where fire is a hazard to hull integrity), biological containment (freezing rather than burning quarantine breaches), and crowd suppression (non-lethal at reduced power). Helios sells the CC-2 to specialist military and security customers.
