Legion MR-8 Railgun
Legion-issue man-portable railgun; military-hardened, field-serviceable.
The MR-8 is the Legion's standard man-portable railgun, a military-specification electromagnetic weapon designed for sustained field deployment. Where the Surikov RG-9 is a premium commercial product, the MR-8 is a military tool: its rail assembly is armoured against battlefield debris, its capacitor system uses standardised Legion power cells, and its maintenance procedures are documented for field armourers with basic technical training. The MR-8's performance is comparable to the RG-9, with slightly lower peak velocity offset by superior reliability and serviceability. The MR-8 is issued to Legion heavy weapons teams and designated anti-armour operators; it is not available for commercial purchase, and Legion inventory control makes diversion exceptionally difficult. Seeing an MR-8 outside Legion hands usually means a Deserter, a battlefield salvage, or a very expensive black-market transaction.
