Rim-pattern Las Carbine
Salvaged and rebuilt las carbine; cheap, effective, and prone to misfire.
The Rim-pattern Las Carbine is a catch-all term for las carbines built by Rim gunsmiths from salvaged Core-world components. These weapons are assembled from whatever laser emitters, focusing arrays, and power cells can be scavenged from wrecks, Derelicts, and battlefield salvage. The result is a functional las carbine that costs a fraction of a Core-manufactured equivalent, but with reliability to match. Rim-pattern las carbines are the energy weapon of choice for clans and warlords who cannot afford Helios or Meridian products, and you find them everywhere on the frontier because Rim gunsmiths are ingenious and their customers are desperate; the ubiquity says as much about the clients.
