Rim-pattern Pulse Carbine
Jury-rigged burst-fire carbine; salvaged pulse technology rebuilt for Rim warfare.
The Rim-pattern Pulse Carbine is a recent addition to the Rim's arsenal, built from salvaged Meridian pulse weapon components by gunsmiths who have learned to reverse-engineer Core-world technology. The burst-fire principle works, after a fashion: the carbine fires rapid pulse sequences, though the timing and power consistency vary from weapon to weapon. Some Rim pulse carbines are devastating; others are temperamental at best. The technology is new enough on the Rim that these weapons carry a certain cachet, a sign that a warlord's gunsmiths are keeping pace with Core-world development. Their unreliability is a fair trade for burst-fire capability at a fraction of the cost of a genuine Meridian product.
