Surikov VK-3 Heavy Machine Gun
Crew-served heavy machine gun; the backbone of mercenary fire teams.
The VK-3 is Surikov Dynamics' standard heavy machine gun, a belt-fed weapon designed for sustained suppressive fire from a fixed position. The VK-3 fires armour-piercing slugs at a cyclic rate that chews through ammunition but denies entire corridors and firing lanes to the enemy. The weapon's mass, recoil, and ammunition appetite demand a two-person crew: a gunner to fire and a loader to manage the belt and clear jams. Deployed on a reinforced tripod, the VK-3 becomes a firebase that pins infantry and threatens light vehicles. Mercenary companies and warlord armies favour the VK-3 for its ruggedness and parts availability; Core militaries consider it obsolete compared to energy-based support weapons, but its ammunition logistics are simpler and its kill-per-rek ratio is hard to beat.
