Notes

Controlling Faction: Independent

Dangers: The stands are packed with armed clan factions; the wrong cheer gets you thrown into a lower-deck pit fight., IronMind's panopticon logs everything that happens on the pitch, and the Reach faction that controls the log controls the league., Players are corporate assets here; even champion rosters are booked, leased and realised when they lose value.

Hooks: A Reach champion is throwing a championship match against a House-sponsored Core team; the betting underworld has come to the Pit in force., IronMind has flagged an anomaly in the league AI's game-log on a previous match; the Pit wants it gone before Confed auditors arrive., A press-ganged indentured crewman on the Pit roster is owed a debt that would, if cleared, set him free under Reach law.

Lore: The Ironball Pit of the Reach is what Warlord Okafor calls her blood-sport valve. Ironball is one of the few institutions that crosses the Core/Rim divide; here, on the Rim, it is the warlord-run edition: brutal, dirty, and run through Reach-clan syndicates rather than corporate Houses. The Pit takes the restless young warriors who would otherwise start clan wars and gives them a controlled arena to die in. Players are realised as assets by whichever Reach faction books them, and the league AI IronMind surveils the matches and arbitrates the rules, which keeps the wagering honest and Okafor's court politically quiet. A Core league match on the Pit draws House scouts, Day One agitators and off-grid rek launderers in equal number; the Reach depends on the Pit for soft power and tolerates IronMind because the alternative is a returning wave of armed, bored warriors. The Pit is also where Reach law publicly executes traitors between matches, which keeps the betting on the next game tight.

Notable: A brutalist Rim arena-station carved into a captured ore hauler, ringed with gantries and clan strongboxes. Lower decks house the team barracks, a black-clinic aug shop and a warren of betting dens where rek changes hands in seconds.
