Notes

Dangers: Fold-bleed is high, structural, and getting worse (the cult-of-the-Drift say the Old Dark is 'answering'); flooded sub-basements (the water table has risen since the town's abandonment); the breathing shaft; the rogue psion's congregation, who have started refusing to leave.

Hooks: The rogue psion at Lhassa is broadcasting on a salvaged Argus rig, preaching to the deep-pit miners and the unconnected about 'the Old Dark'; Drift wants the rig shut down; the Legion wants the psion., An Akraan relic has surfaced in the Lhassa township's flooded sub-basement; the cult-of-the-Drift want it interred; a clan salvage-team wants to take it to Pit-Mouth; a Day One pilgrim in town wants to burn it., The township's old mine-shaft, sealed when the town was abandoned, has started venting air. Something is breathing out of it. The cult-of-the-Drift say it is a sign. The squatters say it is the seal failing.

Lore: Lhassa was the original mining township on Korr-Venn, built when the surface mines were still surface mines and abandoned when Drift's lease moved the operation twelve kilometres down. The clan holds the title and does not visit. The township is a grid of pre-Confederate prefab modules, three thousand of them, most of them half-flooded, half of the rest livable. Six hundred people live here now: squatters from the deep pits who could not stand another cycle, cult-of-the-Drift preachers who came looking for the Old Dark and found it, the rogue psion who runs the preacher's rig, and a drift of unconnected who came here to disappear. Drift does not acknowledge the town; the clan does not collect from it; the Legion has a file on the preacher's rig and a standing order they have not yet acted on. The Sealed Shaft, at the centre of the old town grid, is the reason no one in their right mind builds on Lhassa's footprint any more. The seal was put in by the clan twenty-three years ago. The seal is no longer holding.

Notable: The Sealed Shaft (the town's original mine-head, now venting); the Preacher's Rig (the salvaged Argus transmitter on top of the old town hall); the Flooded Sub-basement (where the Akraan relic surfaced).
