Notes
Dangers: The skin between real and unreal is thinnest here. Anything that flies low enough hears itself think., A Core expedition that overflew the Maw at safe distance reported three of their augmetic crew losing sensation in their Kadiss implants within the hour. None of the three had a Kadiss implant., The Maw eats charts. Whatever region you chart on the way in is not the region you chart on the way out.
Hooks: No LaGrange Core has ever been anchored here. A Helios surveyor wrote a memo asking why. The memo was sealed at the source by Asset Realisation., The Maw is recorded as the deepest Fold-bleed pocket on the charts. Charts are incomplete. The Maw is almost certainly not on them., A Legion scout pilot filed a one-line report on overflying the Maw: 'It is louder here.' The pilot asked for a new posting the same day.
Lore: The Unravelled Maw is the deepest bleed on the inner charts and the deepest anyone has the means to chart. Its origin is unknown. Its depth is unknown. That it exists at all is known only because three survey crews, in three different centuries, all came back with the same description and none of the same coordinates. The Fold bleeds here because the Fold has nothing to stop it bleeding. The Families have not anchored a Core here for the same reason.
Notable: A patch of empty space marked on no Core atlas, reachable only by Fold jumps that no licensed Core will sell., Around the Maw, gravity behaves as if it remembers something the rest of space has forgotten. Inside the Maw, gravity does not behave., A region of localised starlight refraction, visible only to crews with augmetic eyes, forming a slow spiral over six hours, repeating on no fixed interval.
