Notes

Dangers: Atmospheric processors fail unpredictably; canyon country breeds fold-bleed squalls (medium-strength, real but formless); clan-enforced indentured drovers can desert and turn bandit; raiders from the neighbouring Reach clans raid stock trains.

Hooks: The Praam drover convoys need escorts through canyon country where fold-bleed storms have been picking up; the clan is paying in rek but a Legion surveyor is asking questions about which routes are 'safe' versus 'Fold-touched'., An ark ship has been sighted in-system, drifting. The Praam drovers want nothing to do with it (old superstition) but the clan's younger officers want to claim it; whoever brings it down inherits the salvage and the problem., A terraforming atmospheric processor has cracked and is venting unfiltered air into a populated stretch; the clan wants it sealed, but the workers who live around it refuse to leave until the clan's indenture ledger is renegotiated.

Lore: Praam is what happens when terraforming gets ninety percent of the way there and stops. Dry, ochre-dusted plains under a thin CO2-laced sky, ten hours of usable daylight, scrub-grass that grazes but does not thrive. Clan Shen-Korr runs it as a ranching fief, importing pure-air rek and exporting belt-bred beef on the hoof along the Belted Mile to refuel depots further Rim. The atmosphere is held together by twelve atmospheric processors spread across the plains, each one a sealed industrial cathedral tended by contract drovers who are, functionally, indentured to the clan. There is no Kadiss grid here; the clan's records are kept in paper ledgers and a half-broken Argus receiver that picks up Core news two or three Fold-jumps late. Fold-bleed is medium, mostly manifesting as dust-devils that move against the wind, cattle that walk in circles, and drovers who come back from a long drive talking to someone who isn't there. The clans see it as the cost of doing business this far out. Some of the younger drovers have started wearing charms against it. Some of the older ones have stopped.

Notable: The Belted Mile (longest continuous drover trace on the Rim, 900km of fenced scrub-grass); the Ten Cattle Markets of Praam City; an unlicensed Kadiss spoofing rig operating out of the back of a butcher's shop.
