Notes
Dangers: Anyone who watches the Wanderer for too long begins to feel watched., The Wanderer's transmissions bleed into the Observer's comms. The transmissions are short. The transmissions repeat., The Observer's lone psion consultant was quietly rotated out last season. The consultant's replacement has not arrived.
Hooks: The Observer was built by an Argus-led consortium to watch the Wanderer from a stable high-orbit berth. The consortium's funding has not been renewed for three seasons. The Observer is still watching., A Kadiss researcher stationed here reports that the Wanderer is broadcasting on a frequency no one configured. The researcher has not been able to identify the language., The Observer's brig holds a single occupant. The occupant was pulled off the Wanderer by a salvage team two years ago. The occupant has not aged since.
Lore: The Wanderer Observer is what the Core calls responsible stewardship of a problem nobody wants to take responsibility for. The Observer watches. The Observer reports. The Observer's reports go to a House shell that exists on paper only. The Observer's crew is paid on schedule. The Observer's crew is also, by tradition, rotated on a faster schedule than any other Argus station in the verse.
Notable: An Argus-built observation station, parked in a stable high orbit over the dead star the Wanderer circles., The station's instruments are good. The station's instruments sometimes disagree. The station's instruments are replaced when they disagree. The new instruments sometimes still disagree., A small shrine in the wardroom, set up by a previous crew, dedicated to the Wanderer's safe arrival somewhere. The shrine has not been removed. The crew has not been told where they would like the Wanderer to arrive.
