Notes

Controlling Faction: Independent

Dangers: No LaGrange Core safety architecture; every jump risks a Perils event and most days gets one., The air smells of ozone and bad dreams; psions who stay more than a week start to hear their own name called from inside the bulkheads., If the Syndicate decides you are an asset, you are booked as fuel for the next fold.

Hooks: A rogue Navigator at Whisper Ring will fold your ship through the Fold without a Core licence if you can pay in memories they want to keep., The Syndicate wants a psion delivered, still alive, before the next unlicensed jump window opens., Recover the recorded Fold Cascade from a dead Navigator's bench before the next jump rips the Ring in half.

Lore: Whisper Ring is the unlicensed Core ring that makes Freemarket Quays work and the reason the Quays will never settle. The Ring's three Core cradles are patchwork assemblies: stolen Asset Realisation drive frames, black-clinic Navigator couches and a Kadiss beacon gutted for parts. There is no psycho-shield lattice, no Kadiss-leash safety interlock, no Confed inspection since the station exists only because no one admits it does. Every fold from the Ring tears the local Fold veil; each tear attracts horrors, and the horrors draw ghost-haul wrecks that the Quays then salvage. The Ring runs because the Hook Syndicate understands a closed loop the Core will not admit: unlicensed folds cause bleed, bleed causes salvage, salvage pays for the next fold. Rogue Navigators come here to forget their Kadiss tier, to be paid in things Core recruiters cannot trace, and to die on their own terms. A Navigator who has folded from Whisper Ring more than ten times is, statistically, a memory in someone else's body.

Notable: A gutted bulk freighter spun up into a ring on the dark side of the Quays asteroid. Patched living quarters, three unlicensed Core cradles lashed to the keel, and a brig lined with dampening wards scratched into the walls by hand.
