Notes

Controlling Faction: Independent

Dangers: The ship is held together by docking clamps and the unspoken agreement of the dockhands not to talk about deck three., Cargo manifests change when you are not looking; what you inventory is not what unloads., Anyone who sleeps aboard wakes up missing a year.

Hooks: A buyer in the Quay Council is paying in iron rek for the captain's log, and the captain's ghost is still arguing price., Splice a fresh hold of cryo-sleepers out of the lower decks before the next Syndicate jumper cracks the hull and lets the Fold in., The deck three corridor is breathing again; map which panels are safe before the Ring folds a fresh tear across the dock.

Lore: Wraith Haul is the reason the Quays call themselves a free port. The freighter limped into dock with a skeleton crew, no Kadiss log and a hold full of cargo that no Core world will inventory; the original crew is long dead or simply gone, and the ship itself is what the Cartels now call a ghost-haul: a Fold-touched derelict whose value rises with each unlicensed fold that drifts another one in. The Quays have made an economy of ghost-hauls because they are the only commodity that gets more interesting as it gets worse; the haunting, the odd cargo, the half-life of the sleeper pods are all part of the price. Wraith Haul is the oldest of the docked wrecks and the most cursed, which is why the berth around it is the cheapest and the most fought-over. Dock bosses use it as collateral, as punishment detail, and as a way to dispose of debts that should not be traced. The Confed charter that disavows the Quays names Wraith Haul specifically as contraband; nobody on the Quays has read it.

Notable: A pre-Confederation bulk freighter, half-docked at the Quays since before the cartels existed. Lower decks are pressurised but cold; upper decks are open to vacuum and only a maintenance crew in pressure wraps keeps the hull from re-collapsing on the berth.
