Asset-Realisation Enforcer

The fist of the ledger.

Asset Realisation is the apparatus that owns and runs the Cores -- the travel infrastructure beneath the Nine. Most connected citizens appear somewhere on a ledger with a value, a debt, and a realisation schedule, but dead zones, forged records, and off-grid lives create gaps. The Enforcer is the field agent sent when that schedule slips: a debt unpaid, a body unreturned, a contract defaulted, a synthetic that walked off. They arrive with a writ, a restraint rig, and a number, and their job is to bring the asset back onto the books -- alive, ideally, because a dead asset realises at a loss.

Enforcers are harder than corporate security and less principled than Legion. Many are ex-PMC or ex-Legion who found that recovering people pays better than shooting them. They are augmented for the work -- dermal weave, a reinforced frame, a Kadiss scanner that reads a target's debt and location off their own link. They are elite because the work is ugly and the resistance is personal: people fight harder for their own body than for any company's lobby.

Notes

Full Attack: Mag-Lock Carbine ranged +6 (1d10 ballistic; range 60 ft; pings Kadiss-linked target) or Stun-Baton (Heavy) melee +7 (1d6+2 energy; DC 14 Fort or stunned 1d3 rounds) or Restraint Cuffs ranged +4 (grapple, Escape DC 16, Ref DC 14 negates)

Habitat: Anywhere a booked asset has gone to ground: hives, Rim outposts, stations, and the lower decks of Core cities. Asset Realisation operates from corporate hubs and field offices; Enforcers travel in pairs or threes, sometimes with a Corp Security Trooper detail for loud jobs. Roll 1d6: 1-2 = Enforcer pair at a docking bay waiting on a name off the scanner, 3-4 = Enforcer plus two Troopers kicking a hive door, 5-6 = Enforcer team of three closing a net on a station concourse.

Morale: Elite (12); recovers the asset or reports the loss -- will withdraw to regroup if reduced below 10 HP, but returns with a team

Resistances: Dermal weave and reinforced frame (included in AC/HP), Asset Realisation writ (legal cover in Confederation and Family courts; +4 to Bureaucracy checks to justify the recovery)

Senses: Normal human vision; Kadiss scanner grants +6 to Notice and tracking vs any Kadiss-linked being within 120 ft; passive Perception 15

Tactics: Scan, declare, subdue. The Enforcer opens by reading the target's Kadiss link and invoking Booked Asset, then closes to stun-baton and restraint-cuff range while a partner lays covering fire. They go non-lethal on the named asset (Take It Alive) and fully lethal on any rescuer. If the target is Kadiss-blind or the writ is challenged, the Enforcer falls back to intimidation and old-fashioned tracking, and will withdraw to return with a larger team rather than lose the asset to a fight.

Treasure: Mag-lock carbine (500 rek), heavy stun-baton (120 rek), restraint cuff launcher and 4 reloads (400 rek), dermal weave (1,500 rek), Kadiss scanner (1,200 rek), Asset-Realisation writ and badge (the badge is tracked; the writ is worth 0 to anyone but the named recovery), 5d10 rek in expense funds, a couple of stims.

Vulnerabilities: Writ-dependent (the +4 bonuses against the named target end the moment the writ is produced false or voided -- a DC 18 Bureaucracy check proving the debt is paid or forged strips Booked Asset and Take It Alive), Kadiss-blind targets (a target with no Kadiss link, or a spoofed link, defeats the scanner; the Enforcer loses the tracking bonus and must work the old-fashioned way), Crowds and witnesses (a loud recovery on-camera turns the Enforcer from an agent of the ledger into a kidnapper; the Enforcer will pull out rather than generate footage)

Special Abilities

Booked Asset

FieldValue
actionCostStandard
nameBooked Asset

description: The Enforcer carries an Asset-Realisation writ naming a specific target. Once per encounter the Enforcer can spend a standard action to declare the target a 'booked asset', reading their debt and location off the Kadiss scanner. Until the end of the encounter the Enforcer gains +4 to Notice, Survival (track), and Intimidation against that target, and the target takes -2 to Deception and Stealth against the Enforcer (the ledger does not lie). Player-visible: the Enforcer reads a number off their scanner, says the target's name, their debt, and the address they slept at last week.

Take It Alive

FieldValue
actionCostpassive
nameTake It Alive

description: The Enforcer's writ pays out on recovery, not on a body. Against the named target the Enforcer imposes -2 to damage with lethal weapons but gains +2 to the save DCs of their stun-baton and restraint cuffs. This bonus vanishes against anyone who is not the named asset (the Enforcer will use full lethal force on a rescuer). Player-visible: the Enforcer goes for the target's legs and the cuffs, and shoots everyone else in the chest.

Dermal Reinforcement

FieldValue
actionCostpassive
nameDermal Reinforcement

description: Subdermal weave and a reinforced frame (included in AC and HP). The first time each encounter the Enforcer would be reduced to 0 HP by a single hit, they instead drop to 1 HP -- the weave catches it. Additionally the Enforcer ignores the first 3 points of falling damage and is +2 to resist being moved or knocked prone. Player-visible: the Enforcer takes a hit that should have dropped them, steadies, and keeps coming.
