Confederation Citizen
A birth-registered subject of the Confederation of Sovereign Worlds, fed by state rek, watched by state eyes.
Confederation citizens are the statistical majority of humanity in the LaGrange era. They are birth-registered, fed by state rations in childhood, schooled by state academies, and pensioned in old age. Their identity is a card, their savings are a number, and their freedom is conditional on staying inside Confed jurisdiction. Out on the Rim the card means nothing; in the Core it is a small shield.
Rules Reference
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Archetype Combinations / Chaplain | Workable fit. Confed chaplains are licensed; the citizen can credibly run a parish. |
| Archetype Combinations / Face | Natural fit. Persuasion and Bureaucracy are the Face's bread and butter; the citizen provides both at expert rank. |
| Archetype Combinations / Officer | Workable fit. Officer's authority meshes with Confed rank structures. |
| Archetype Combinations / Operative | Good fit. The Confed ID is a perfect cover identity inside Core space, and Deception ranks support it. |
| Archetype Combinations / Psion | Awkward fit. Confed registers psions heavily; the citizen's status is a leash. |
| Archetype Combinations / Sawbones | Workable fit. Confed hospitals are excellent; the citizen assumes that is normal. |
| Archetype Combinations / Scout | Awkward fit. Confeds rarely range beyond mapped lanes. |
| Archetype Combinations / Soldier | Awkward fit. Confed citizenship and ground combat do not mix well; citizens are rarely frontline troops. |
| Background Trait / Name | Citizen Pass |
| Background Trait / Trigger | Passive; condition-based penalty. |
| Starting Rek | 800 |
| Verse Anchor | Confederation Citizen |
Notes
Archetype Combinations / Academic: Best fit. Core-worlds education plus Bureaucracy means the Academic can navigate the institutional labyrinth the system expects.
Background Trait / Cause: Because Confed machinery reads its citizens by registry number and the bureaucracy only knows how to reward the registered.
Background Trait / Effect: +4 bonus to Bureaucracy checks performed inside Confederation territory or against Confed officials. While outside Confed space, Confed-aligned authorities treat the character as a flagged missing-person (Will save vs. DC 15 to avoid legal compulsion if encountered).
Social Hook: The citizen knows how to queue, how to escalate, and how to read a contract before signing. They have a rek score, an address, and a pension plan. They are trusted by clerks and mistrusted by everyone who has ever left the Core.
Starting Gear: Citizen ID card (Confederation Standard, active chip), Datapad (Confed-secured, locked to holder), Two sets of formalwear (corporate and casual), Plasma pistol (ITEM-PLASMA-CARBINE sidearm variant) with Confed carry permit, Rek chip with starting balance of 800, Personal comm unit (Confed-net capable), One favour voucher (single-use; honoured by a Confed-aligned fixer of GM choice)
