Notes
Adventure Hooks: A mining crew breaks into a sealed chamber deep in the asteroid. Inside: tool marks on the walls, a floor worn smooth by centuries of feet, and a glyph that matches no known language. The Consortium wants it sealed; a Day One preacher on the platform says it is proof of the First People., A worker dies in a tunnel collapse. The foreman calls it an accident; the dead worker's shift-mate says the supports were deliberately cut. The Consortium suppresses the investigation., A fuel shipment bound for the Forge of Wrath is sabotaged on the refinery pad. Legion agents arrive to investigate and suspect Rim clan infiltration of the workforce., The deeper veins are yielding ore that corrodes standard equipment at an impossible rate. A geologist wants to hire the party to escort her into the deep tunnels to find the source.
Crawl Notes: The deep mining tunnels are a genuine crawl environment: unlit, partially pressurised, riddled with dead ends and collapse hazards, and home to whatever left those tool marks on the ancient chamber walls. The sealed chamber itself is a crawl set-piece. The refinery gantries offer a vertical hazard crawl above the void.

Lore: Deepstone clings to the surface of Asteroid 4471-V, a nickel-iron rock in the Harlan Belt. The Vorc Industrial Consortium holds the Confederation charter and runs the platform on three shifts, around the clock. Eighteen thousand workers and engineers live in pressurised modules bolted to the asteroid's surface; the refinery stacks extend into the void on skeletal gantries. Conditions are harsh: atmosphere is recycled to the point of tasting metallic, shifts run twelve hours, and the company store charges Rim prices for Core-quality goods -- which is to say, a lot for very little. Worker disputes are handled by Consortium security, who are armed and unsympathetic. The asteroid itself is rich: rare metals, radioactives, and -- in the deeper veins -- trace elements that the geologists say should not be there, as if the rock were worked before, long ago, by something that was not human.
